Get Up and Walk Again!

"Get up and walk again!"

We hear this often from parents with kids just starting to learn how to walk. "Come on now darling, don't cry.. Stand up straight and come to mummy.. Yes, that's it.. Slowly, slowly.." and finally the mother managed to wrap her arms around the little girl and hugged her lovingly, congratulating her for the effort to stand up and walk again on her own.

There are many times when we fall - school academic performances dropped, relationships failed, until finally we feel as if everything we do is a failure. In all these times when we fall, there are people around us giving moral support and encouragement to stand up and try again.

"But I've tried so many times and it's still the same!" you may cry out to those who kept reminding you that boring 'try again' phrase. But do we know that that negative response of ours; being tired of trying again and agan and failing is actually making us fail psychologically?

We can stand up again if we fall down. We can walk again despite the injury we had after the fall. Everything is possible if only we think we can. That is positive motivation. At times when we feel we can't go on with what we are doing or facing, we need to remind ourselves that "If others can do it, why can't I? If they can, I can too! And I will do better!" In doing so, we are psychologically motivated to think positively and will strive to perform our best. And those around you will always affirm and assure you that your enthusiasm and courage to stand up and walk again is the right thing to do.

If we fall down and all is retrieved with the spirit of courage, that is where respect for your effort is earned.

There is always a chance that one can get tired by getting up again and again. only to try and fail again.

It can be said, that one person ma have not try very hard, but what's your view on that. Sure, this is a more serious problem.

dear anonymous,
yes you are right - we as human get tired standing up and stumbling again..but is it that SAME block?

Also it can be that person has not tried his best, and his action of standing up and trying again (continuing SAME retrying action) is not effective enough.

Therefore it is always advisable to put the problem you are facing in front of you and examine it carefully. Find it's weakest point and that's where you attack it with your strength, your skill.

Analogy: When you go to war, you must know what's the weakness of your enemies, and find ways to attack them from there. Or else you will be losing your battle over and over again if you keep battling without thinking of the correct winning strategy.

I hope it clears the mist a little. =)

I guess you write. No, scratch that.

You hit it dead right.

Theoretically, anyone would know that but practically, not many would be able to do so.

It takes a lot of willpower, strength that many lack. Divine Intervention would change everything.

anonymous: sometimes we just need a push from behind to say "hey, it's not that hard.." and yes we need to have strong willpower - everyone has it, just that we don't realise it somehow.

but all the same, we can if we want to.

ya.....often we need the push of encouragement from behind but at times what we get is discouragement instead...n that's when getting up again is so hard...

dear amy, yes discouragements come sometimes instead of encouragements. but it's up to us whether to accept that discouragement as discouragement, or just turn it into stepping stone so that it becomes an encouragement instead, to prove dat u can do it. =)

all the best!
