The Fountain

I dreamt of this.

A fountain.

If we really study the fountain, we will notice that water spurts out from the bottom going against gravity. Once reaching its limits, the water showers down with the awesome flowery dance. Amazing.

Imagine how much effort it takes to create that force to push the water up and let it 'bloom' from above. If we are to be the person pushing from below, I would expect us to sweat more than the water flowing upwards. Although it takes great trouble to make the water go in an opposing direction, the result of those huffing and puffing is simply breath-taking.

Many times we need to put in effort to do things to get things moving. Sometimes the effort we put in does not seem to make the thing move.. not even an inch or two. And we get discouraged. But as the saying "A little makes a lot" or "Sedikit-sedikit lama-lama jadi bukit", it does make a difference in the result. And mind you, you won't regret pouring in those sweat and blood - it's worth it.

So to make fountains up there, we've got to work from the start - right down there. :)

Upcoming

The document's out. Preparations must be done. Thought it was not right to do it that way, so we did it another way yet now it was consented to do the former. ...what a waste.

Anyway, upcoming events!

Ever wondered why sometimes we get soooo excited about a certain event coming up very very soon, and when the event date comes nearer by just a week, you tend to lose those anxiety and excitement? I suppose that happens when you have too much to look forward to, till you forget which one to be more excited about. And it's happening.

It seems rather a tasteless feeling that things and people fail you one after another. As people would always say, give them another chance. Yea. Another chance. And another, and another, and another... so that you'll be given chances too, when it hits back on you one day. Ah... the counter-attack.

All the same, :) I suppose smiling is still top on my list. It gets very annoying that you know the other side of being on one side of yourself. Doubt if you get what I mean, but it's so hard to think of the fuller half cup at times. Sometimes I wish to just pour everything away and start refilling once more. It frusts when you try to go against your own human self, knowing better of the spiritual self. Ahh..

With all these upcoming events, I've been thinking whether I'm up for it. Whether I'm really into it now, as I awaited its arrival weeks and months ago. I don't know why all these were planned, but somehow I contradict myself lately. Perhaps leaving it up to God would be the best decision, yet at the same time to do some personal thinking as well. :S

Flooded

It's getting tense. The winds blew strongly and gushing waters came rushing in from all corners. Flood's coming.

God, when will the time come for you to take away the 40 days flood?

Silent companion, please be at my side when the toughest wave pushes me down. I am still standing despite the shakes it is giving me; I just need a rail, on standby.

Let us pray all may persevere through this flood and make the best sculpture out of the sand it swept ashore.

100th Post?

Whenever I read somone's blog on their 100th's post, They would surely write about how long it has been since they started writing and how things started in the first place and how things are going..

But for my 100th post, I'm not going to talk about the past and how this blog came to life. Instead this post will be about..

Future.

Ooo...sounds as if I'm a palm reader or something. But I'm not. XP

After the approach on future courses and career, I've been weighing myself lately. How would I face the future when the courses I take comes to life. How would I handle situations when the worst and least expected happens. Can I this, can I that. How this, how that.

It fills me so much with uncertainty and I dare say, fear, to know that life isn't what I thought it would be when I was younger. What will come next. What will happen in future. How will I see myself in 10 years, 20 years. How things will be. How things are going to change. How I am going to adapt to it.

I suppose it's time to think. There's no more "Oops, my bad. Let me try again." and repeat the same thing without any problems. Now there's only, "Wrong? Move forward. Learn not to do the same again." How things have changed. How time has ticked.

And not forgetting, how people have changed. =)

If we don't appreciate now, we'll never get to appreciate anymore.

New Year, New Start

This new year started off well. I suppose it's the best, yet. Starting off with God being the first person to focus on at the strike of midnight was something money can never buy.

10 minutes to 00:00 hours, we prayed silently. I was somehow.. blank. I didn't know what to tell God, or what to pray for. My mind was blank, if not blank would be full of unrelated thoughts. I wasn't focussed.

Then a thought came to me, "Be patient and wait for what i have planned for you." Job 36. This verse I got during the Inside Out program at Doulos - It struck me again. Then I recalled 2008. From the start of 1st Jan till that moment 31st Dec. Too many memories flashed back. Sweet ones, bitter ones.. Happy memories, hurtful memories.. and tears flowed. I didn't know why tears ran down my cheek, but I knew it was a sign that I was willing to let go of the past, and look forward to future. And I lifted up 2008 to God, being assured that 2009 would be a great year with even MORE blessings!

Indeed 2009 is not a disappointment. It is a beginning of a new phase of life - older teen life. I just closed my previous chapter of young teen life. Being legal is not something everyone yearns to be, because responsibility comes in on you fully and decisions are made by ownself. Maturity is something one must have in order to survive the coming years.

Just symbolically, I started off my new life chapter with room cleaning. All the previous years of 'young teen life' stuff were taken all out and replaced with 'older teen life' stuff. It was a tough adjustment as the cleaning actually took 3 days (until today not totally finished yet!) and I thought, how long will I really need in real life, to adjust myself to this new phase?

I suppose new beginnings have new challenges. And new challenges ought to be harder than the previous years'. But that's the fun of it - to learn and grow in maturity. If one never face challenges, how would one ever grow?

For me, up to today 7th Jan, I have been entrusted with new responsibilities which I never encountered in my past years, and I can tell you all these will continue to shape me to be who I am supposed to be in future. These are all part of the training. Tough as it is, I believe only God can guide me through it.

I will update more on these, when I have 'spare' time from those responsibilities! =)

Achieving Dreams

I was having a rest this morning when this thought came to me: What is my dream? What do I want to be in future? What do I want to do when I grow up, when I'm capable of living my own life?

Then I thought; I know what I want to be, who I want to be. I want to be a successful person; one who can make a difference in the lives of others, one who can live life fully according to God's teachings. That is my dream, my goal, my purpose in life.

I am sure everyone has dreams - to be a successful businessman, the manager of the biggest company in town, a science professor, an English teacher or even the happiest parent of a proud son/daughter. Every person you feel you want to be is your dream, and that dream can come true only if you are willing to work hard enough to achieve it. So are you prepared to work for it? That's the question I always pose to myself, am I ready?

The one who knows his goal in life and dares to work hard for it, no matter if he fails to achieve that dream, he is already labelled successful for his effort.
