Buzz Buzz..

This. Rarely Seen.

My dad got stung by a (huge male father) bee yesterday. Well, he wasn't actually at fault...BUT he did annoy the bees above him with the frictional irritating sound of sharpening the knife.. and he paid the price.
The story: At the first visit, dad drove the bee away as it was circling his head. The second visit, it was determined to stay, and it landed with...
An injection on his head. On the skull. Gosh.

So.. notice the picture above? The white thing inside the hive...? It's larva. A big one. Here's a more detailed picture, on what's inside the hive.
(This was taken out after the bees flew off and left the hive and 'babies' inside, for some particular reason.)

And this one below... is what's inside the hexagon honey thing. And that thing which looked like a shell, is the fragile, one-mm-thick hive wall. Order of arrangement: right to left - small egg to adult bee. Imagine how many bees will be born if it had not stung my dad.

And I conclude with this:

A new hive. Under the mango tree.

Burn Burn Burn...

Just the previous blog I wrote about the increasing heat around us. Then recently I saw my neighbors burning dead leaves in their house compounds..and I thought, what a BIG contribution they are making to our earth.

I mean, look at your surroundings! The air is so misty that those who have breathing problems breathe even more difficultly than usual. I have friends who now admit themselves into hospitals to grab hold of their dear lives for another few minutes just so that they can survive the night. Some others without problems have now developed sicknesses due to dirty air.

Why burn, when you can recycle? Why burn, when you can bury? How to burn, if your best friend or loved one has asthma? How to burn, if you yourself can't breathe well..?

Think about the damage caused from all the smoke..
Think about the people damaged by the smoke..
Think about your loved ones, damaged by the smoke from your act of burning..

Please, stop burning. Have a small pinch of consideration for those around you. It might not affect you now, but it will have effect on you later on. One day, you will regret. But please don't wait till that day..

Hot Weather

The weather is getting warmer and warmer each day lately in Malaysia, don't you think? Well for Asean country, this is very normal. The weather is either hot (very very hot that ice-cream melts in 5 minutes) or cold (cold but still can sweat at the same time). So in this hot weather, what is there to think about?

My brain is sweating so much that apparently nothing comes to my mind to write about. However, as I switched on the fan (instead of the air-conditioner), and fixed myself on this comfy 'hot' chair of mine, I realised we should be thankful for such a weather! "Be thankful for such...'burning' weather? You must be kidding me..." you might object, but why do I say so?

At some cold countries, they have never experienced this kind of hot weather where you just sit still under the fan and sweat at the same time (correct me if I'm wrong). We Malaysians on the other hand depend so much on air-con that we complain at the slightest hot air we feel, am I right?

Think about the time of our grandparents. They never knew what air-con was. They hardly felt the existance of fan. All they had was warm air on hot weather, cool air on cold weather. And have they ever complained? They lived with atap roofing and wooden floors, and was there any complications when it comes to weather change? Of course there was...but to them, "No big deal!" Don't believe me? Ask your grandparents (if they're still here), or any old aged people, and hear for yourself. You might get this in the end, "You people nowadays are soooo pampered." Don't blame me if you get that.

So friends, be thankful that you have sunshine and rain. Despite the many 'problems' we face due to the weather, at least we can tell others that, "Hey, I love the sun. It dries my clothes!" or "I love the rain, it cools the earth."

At the end of the day, we still live well enough for the next day...=)
